Zazzle to hire 60 seasonal staff for European Headquarters in Cork

Zazzle, the online marketplace for custom products, has confirmed its commitment to Cork, having established its European Headquarters in the newly purchased former Guinness landmark premises at Union Quay in the city.

The privately owned company, launched in 2005 and based in Redwood City, California, is planning on hiring for various roles to support its growing international business. The roles include multilingual International Customer Support, Finance, HR, Sales and Marketing as well as Technology Development.

100 staff members have already been hired and are currently working in the Union Quay offices. The company plans to hire 60 more seasonal staff over the coming weeks to meet demand for the busy holiday season. These positions in customer support offer flexible hours from as little as eight to 12 hours per week. Zazzle provides a fun environment and the opportunity to help improve and resolve customer requests and questions, particularly during the peak holiday season. The holiday season brings many new and returning shoppers to Zazzle, who are looking to create a heartfelt gift that will be memorable for years to come.

“We are excited to grow our presence in Cork, a fantastic city with a strong talent pool,” states Jason Kang, Managing Director of Zazzle Ireland. “Our historic building is the perfect launching pad for us to build our global presence. We are actively hiring for the holiday season, particularly college students who may be interested in part-time roles.”

Minister for Jobs, Enterprise & Innovation, Mary Mitchell O’Connor congratulated Zazzle on establishing its European Headquarters in Cork, saying: “This is exactly the kind of innovative company that we want to see setting up in Ireland and it is a great boost of confidence for Cork.  These additional seasonal jobs will provide students in particular with their first steps on the jobs ladder and give them a great insight into the workings of a forward thinking company in the digital space.”

CEO of IDA Ireland, Martin Shanahan said: “As a leading marketplace for ‘all things customised’ in a high-growth consumer sector, Zazzle’s Customer Support Centre and strategic business services activities in Cork are a valuable addition to Ireland’s eCommerce and Consumer clusters. It will further consolidate Ireland’s position as the destination of choice for leading-edge, digitally-enabled companies. I wish Zazzle continued success here.”
