Dalkey – Road Safety Improvement Works – Convent Road, Harbour Road, Loreto Avenue

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council proposes to implement Road Safety Improvement works at Convent Road / Harbour Road / Loreto Ave. in Dalkey. The scheme involves the provision of feature speed control ramps on Convent Road, a raised platform at the proposed new school warden crossing location on Harbour road, relocation of existing electricity supply poles on Convent Road to the back of the footpath, widening of the existing footpath on Convent Road between Corrig Road and Harbour Road. Alter kerb radii and increase footpath area at junctions of Harbour Road / Harbour Crescent and Harbour Road / Loreto Ave. Provide Drop off / Set down Area for cars and bus on Harbour Road. Install new dropped kerbs and tactile paving at crossing points.

This scheme is being proposed to address road safety issues affecting those commuting to schools in the vicinity of Convent Road, Harbour Road, and Loreto Avenue in Dalkey, and those pedestrians using the school warden crossing on Harbour Road, and the safety of the school warden.

Plans illustrating the scheme will be on display for a period of three weeks commencing from Tuesday 5th February, 2013 to Tuesday 26th February, 2013 at:
