Minister Mitchell O’Connor opens Alter Pharma offices and announces 80 new jobs in Balbriggan, Co Dublin

Alter Pharma today officially inaugurated its new 48,000 sq. ft. Headquarters for its worldwide operations in Balbriggan, Co Dublin. The company also announced its plans to add 80 new jobs bringing total employment onsite to 120 by 2018. Alter Pharma CEO Pieter Van Rompay was joined by Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Mary Mitchell O’Connor, and staff from its sister site in Belgium to officiate at the opening ceremony.

Minister Mitchell O’Connor urges young entrepreneurs to apply for Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur (IBYE) award

 

Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur (IBYE) is an initiative of the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation and Enterprise Ireland, and is run by the 31 LEOs across the country. Each LEO has an investment fund of up to €50,000 to award to young entrepreneurs across three categories locally – Best Business Idea, Best Start-Up Business and Best Established Business.

40 new jobs for Waterford with The Packaging Hub

The Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Mary Mitchell O’Connor TD, and Minister for Training, Skills and Innovation, John Halligan TD, today (Friday, 23 September), officially opened The Packaging Hub’s new packaging manufacturing facility and healthcare logistics centre in Waterford. As a result of the new facility, The Packaging Hub will create 40 jobs in Waterford by 2018. The expansion has been supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through Enterprise Ireland.

Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation announces additional financial resources for IDA Ireland in light of British EU referendum result

The Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Mary Mitchell-O’Connor T.D., announced today that €500,000 is being made available by her Department to the IDA to support the Agency’s global communications in the wake of the British EU referendum result. The Minister indicated that the resources will be used to help the IDA communicate effectively in key target markets about the continued benefits of investing in Ireland.

GE to invest €150 million in a new biopharmaceutical manufacturing campus

Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Mary Mitchell O’Connor TD, today announced that GE (NYSE:GE) is to invest €150 million in a new biopharmaceutical manufacturing campus on Industrial Development Agency (IDA) Ireland’s strategic site at Loughbeg, Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork. GE BioPark Cork, subject to contract and planning approvals, will feature Europe’s first KUBio™, prefabricated, off-the-shelf bio-manufacturing facilities, owned and run by GE customers, and will serve as focal point for further investment in next-generation biopharmaceutical manufacturing in Ireland.

110 New Jobs for Dublin as part of €3 million investment by Nightline

Nightline, Ireland’s largest independent logistic and delivery service, has today announced the creation of 110 new jobs in Dublin as part of an expansion of the business with an investment of €3 million. Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Mary Mitchell O’Connor T.D., joined Nightline CEO, John Tuohy, in announcing this important growth and continued success of the business. The company is expanding to cater for the launch of new premium services for its customers including same day, evening and weekend deliveries. As a direct result of this investment Nightline has opened a new depot in Swords, Co. Dublin. These jobs are part of a growth announcement of 150 new jobs nationally for Nightline.

Minister Mitchell O’Connor welcomes news of 165 new jobs with Deutsche Bank

Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Mary Mitchell O’Connor TD and IDA Ireland today welcomed the announcement by Deutsche Bank that the company has opened a data lab in Dublin that will create 40 new jobs. The company also announced plans to create a further 125 Technology and Operations roles in Dublin supporting its Global Markets and Corporate & Investment Banking divisions.
